Summary
A well-established provider of specialized products and services to highly regulated industries in Chandler, AZ is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcer to lead sourcing initiatives for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) categories. This role is responsible for handling new product requests, supporting ad hoc sourcing needs, and driving cost-saving initiatives across multiple commodity categories. This role involves collaborating with both new and established suppliers to identify procurement options that enhance functionality, reduce costs, and shorten lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute strategic sourcing activities to identify products and suppliers that meet open inquiry requirements
- Assist the sales team by addressing technical product questions and proposing customer-focused solutions
- Provide prompt responses to customer inquiries to support a high-quality service experience
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, agreements, and delivery timelines with suppliers
- Identify and assess opportunities to lower sourcing costs, improve product offerings, and increase value for customers
- Perform regular market research and spend analysis to drive cost efficiencies and supplier performance enhancements
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective procurement options
- Collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders to support business development and maximize opportunities
- Lead tender processes and contract negotiations
- Contribute as a member of a skilled, collaborative team to help achieve company objectives
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio, supplier network, competitive landscape, and customer applications
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification or a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Experience with industrial supplies, MRO parts, critical spares, or electrical components
- Background in supply chain or sourcing is preferred
- Experience in supplier evaluation, negotiation, and selection
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and identify effective solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities
- Ability to understand and absorb technical product details
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with MS Office; SAP ERP experience is highly desirable
- Flexible, proactive mindset with strong strategic thinking skills
- Strong team orientation and willingness to support colleagues
- Ability to meet deadlines and work within set timeframes
